Mount Moriah is the place where King Solomon built "the House of the Lord", in Jerusalem. The very spot on which it was built was pointed out by God to King David, Solomon's father, years before Solomon built the temple. The spot had been the treshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite (2 Chron. 3:1). This is the only place in the Bible where the Temple Mount is indentified with the site where Abraham was to sacrifice Issac, as in Genesis 22:2, which says, "Then God said: 'Take your son Issac, your only one, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah..." Mount Moriah is the place where the Temple Mount, with the "Dome of the Rock", is located today.
Mount Moriah appears in 1 Bible verse: 2 Chr 3:1.
