Shimeath was a Ammonite woman who was the mother of Jozabad, also known as Zabad, who killed King Joash of Judah.
Shimeath's son, Jozabad, and another man named Jehozabad, murdered King Joash while Joash was sleeping. Jozabad and Jehozabad were officials of the king when they conspired against him, assassinating him at Beth Millo.
Shimeath is mentioned by name twice in the Bible, in 2 Kings 12:21 and 2 Chronicles 24:26.
The name Shimeath means "fame."
