There are two women in the Bible named Adah. One was the wife of Lamech and the mother of Jubal, a musician.
Lamech had another wife, named Zillah (Gen. 4:19).
Adah gave birth to a son, Jabal (Gen. 4:20). Some Bible commentators say that she also gave birth to a son named Jubal. However, Jubal is mentioned only once in scripture, in Gen. 4:21, as being the brother to Jabal, so it is not explicity stated who his mother is. It is possible that Adah is the mother of Jubal also.
Adah, wife of Lamech, is mentioned by name three times in the Bible, in Gen. 4:19, 20, 23.
The name Adah means "adornment," "beauty" or "pleasure."
The other Adah was the wife of Esau.
Next person in the Bible: Adam
