One of the followers of Jesus who provided for his material needs, and the needs of the disciples. She was the wife of Chuza, the steward of Herod Antipas, and with many others, provided for Jesus and the disciples with their own resources (Luke 8:3). She also witnessed the empty tomb with Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and announced Christ's resurrection to the apostles (Luke 24:9-10). The name Joanna means "the Lord has been gracious."
