Miracles of Jesus: Healing many people before giving a sermon in Galilee

(Luke 6:17-19)

After a confrontation with religious leaders who commit themselves to having Jesus killed, he retreats from them and continues his public ministry.

During this time, many people who have traveled far and wide to find Jesus have gathered before him to hear his teachings and to be miraculously healed by him. Luke's description of this event shows that Jesus' popularity is growing.

In this miracle, many people reach out to touch Jesus and are healed.

Luke describes this event in his Gospel:

17 He came down with them, and stood on a level place, with a crowd of his disciples, and a great number of the people from all Judea and Jerusalem, and the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases; 18 as well as those who were troubled by unclean spirits, and they were being healed. 19 All the multitude sought to touch him, for power came out of him and healed them all.
