Israel is forced into exile, scattered among the nations

AD 70, AD 136

During the first and second centuries of this era, the Jews waged two wars against the oppressive Roman Empire for independence. After each war, the Jews were forced into exile and scattered among the nations throughout the Roman world.

The two wars are known as the First Jewish-Roman War (AD 67-73) and the Second Jewish-Roman War (AD 132-136). Both wars resulted in forced exile of the Jews from their homeland.

During the many centuries that followed, while scattered throughout the Roman world, the Jews were forced to relocate many times, due to persecutions. This led to an eventual worldwide diaspora of Jews.
